Cecly Placenti

Cecly Placenti (Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer) received her MA in Dance Education from NYU and her BFA in Dance from Montclair State University. She has had the good fortune to perform with such companies and choreographers as Chris Ferris and Dancers, The Next Stage Project, Manuel Vignoulle, ESS/Danceworks, Sleepdance, C. Eule Dance, The Annie Sailer Dance Company, Linda Diamond and Dancers, Michael Foley, and Freespace Dance. Cecly's choreography has been presented at the Silk City Arts Festival, Merce Cunningham Studio, Williamsburg Arts Nexus, The Physical Arts Center, Hatch, and the Cool New York Dance Festival at White Wave.

Cecly organized and performed in "Coming Together," a benefit concert for the World Trade Center Relief Fund and also conceived and helped organize "Montclair Responds," an evening of music, dance, and spoken word to benefit the American Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund. Her dance criticisms have been published in Ballet-Dance magazine, an online magazine at criticaldance.com. Cecly was a guest choreographer at Cicely Tyson School of Performing and Fine Arts and is currently full time dance teacher at Grant Avenue Elementary School in Bronx, NY.


Kristen Klein

Kristen Klein (dancer) hails from Branford, Connecticut and received her training from The New Haven Ballet, Boston Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theater, and Ballet Austin. Ms. Klein went on to study at The Boston Conservatory in Boston, MA where she graduated Cum Laude in 2008 with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography. While at the Conservatory she performed in works by Jose Limon, Murray Louis, and Olivier Besson and was the recipient of the Julie Ince Thompson Choreography Scholarship. Since graduating she has worked with The Harvard University Historical Society, Tribe of Human, Chie Mukai, and Kelley Donovan & Dancers. Kristen started her own company, Inclined Dance Project, in the summer of 2009. Since it’s creation, Inclined Dance Project has performed throughout New York City and New England, showcasing works at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, White Wave’s DUMBO and CoolNY Dance Festivals, the International Festival of Arts and Ideas, and WAXWorks, among others. Kristen was most recently featured in the February 2011 issue of Dance Spirit Magazine in the article “Much Ado About Music”. This is her second season performing with Six Degrees Dance. 


Rachel Russell

Rachel Russell (dancer) is from Kansas City, Missouri. She holds a BFA in dance from
UMKC. Rachel has been dancing professionally since 2003, in Kansas City and NYC. She
spent several seasons with ellen stokes shadle/DanceWorks and has worked with such choreographers as Kim LaRue, Thomas Scott, Andrea Andresakis, and Peter London. Rachel joined Six Degrees in 2010. Thanks to all my family and friends for your support and love.



Annastasia Mercedes

Annastasia Mercedes is a New York native. From a classical foundation, she went on to begin her professional studies in ballet and modern technique, pedagogy, and dance composition at the Hartt School, under the direction of Stephen Pier. She received her B.F.A in Ballet and Dance Pedagogy while studying under Nina Watt, Hilda Morales, Debra Collins-Ryder, Tim Melady, Samantha Dunster, and Gregory Dolbashian. She has performed in both classical and contemporary works to include choreography by Pascal Rioult, Charlotte Griffin, Martin Losfnes, Stephen Pier, Jose Limon, Martha Graham, George Balanchine, Anthony Tudor, and August Bournonville. In addition to her experiences in concert dance, Annastasia has appeared in a number of regional theatre productions including appearances at Hartford Stage under the direction of Darko Tresnjak. Annastasia is a dancer with Six Degrees Dance, as well as Chris Ferris & Dancers. When not performing, you can find her working with the children of NYC at The Joffrey Ballet School, Ballet Tech, Ballet Academy East, and Rioult danceREACH. Annastasia believes versatility is essential and thus enjoys exploring every opportunity to expand her limits and has a passion for sharing the art of dance.
